Eye Surgery - back to services
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) involves lifting droopy eyelids for a younger appearance or to improve vision
The eyes have been called the mirrors to the soul; however, if your eyes have become droopy or baggy, it's possible that they don't accurately reflect your true inner feelings. While you may feel young and vigorous, your eyes may be telling others that you are tired and cranky. With blepharoplasty, you can redefine the contours of your eyes and relieve bagginess for a more youthful, revitalized appearance.
Blepharoplasty can be for the upper or lower eyelid and allows patients to combat drooping eyelids and eliminate sagging under-eye bags. Excess skin of the upper eyelid can be removed that causes it to droop. For the lower eyelids, the procedure can be performed inside the lower eyelid transconjunctivally (across the conjunctiva) to make a small, bloodless incision. The fat pads causing the "bags" are refined, and because no skin incision is made, external incisions are not required. Recovery time is relatively brief, and the results are generally excellent.
If the appearance of your eyes does not reflect your true inner feelings, you may wish to consider blepharoplasty. Occasionally, your insurance may cover your procedure if it affects your peripheral vision. If you live in Minnesota, come visit the Brainerd Lakes area and learn more about this procedure. Blepharoplasty is one of the most common procedures Dr. Waters Office performs. Contact us today to schedule an eyelid surgery consultation. |
